Confirms some of my thoughts...
A Post SUV phase is coming. This is what I've said many times already. Especially with Electric Vehicles (EVs), the car has 5 inches of batteries that really affects the floor. Thus, Tesla sedans have a flat floor but the rear seats end up being extremely uncomfortable since there are no footwells. You end up having no thigh support and your knees are high in the air because the floor is so shallow. Thus, with EVs, a flat floor will necessitate a semi-SUV like wagon shape.
EVs will eventually evolve to look like taller wagon vehicles. Much like the BMW i3 and Chevrolet Bolt look currently. Tesla has initial success since their cars look like real cars, but the rear seats on the Model S and Model 3 are almost unusable for long trips. Tesla's dominance will continue for the short run, but competitors will come out with interesting products that will prove very competitive. Chevrolet's BOLT model already has 238 miles of range. Competitor battery technology will also improve. In the long run, ten years from now, Tesla will not have the dominance it currently enjoys.
As for Korean design... Let's see if Hyundai is able to create a DNA. BMWs are almost consistently recognized as BMWs. Audis are also very consistent. Mercedes-Benz is somewhat less consistent but mostly identifiable from its large grill with horizontal slats (AMG variants will now have Panamerica race car derived vertical slats).
