Ah, those glossy black panels, I expect them to be covered in smears and fingerprints the moment they remove the protective film.

The 3rd generation Porsche Cayenne will make its debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. 2 models will be revealed - the Cayenne ($65,700) and Cayenne S ($82,900). The Porsche Cayenne houses a 3.0L single turbo V6 with 340 hp which goes from 0-60 in 5...

I really like nice and new interiors but...

 By: Clueless_Collector : August 29th, 2017-15:05
a little worry on the new electronics integration and reliability. When the Panamera first came out with the new interior and electronics, the service centers were busy. If the exterior is not much different, I'm keeping my good old 2014 V8 with 34k miles...

funny detail

Best wishes Alkiro

And next to it...

'Get a Life' by Dr. Ing. F Porsche, with a picture of the Cayman. Maybe a hidden message to Cayenne owners?

From my side... who knows 😁😉

LOL 😂

Do you take non-engineers, too?

I bought my wife a 2017 model.

 By: JerryW : August 31st, 2017-20:55
I would rather wait for the second year of production for two reasons, first the always have a few kinks they fix and second sometimes they have an engine change in year two. I like the last year of production because it is the best of that run.

Good choice....I bought mine 3+ years ago, only a minor glitch in the rear hatch not shutting fully, intermittent problem.

No wonder Porsche's JD Power ratings are great now. Just test drove the G63 AMG last week, huge differences in the way it handles, too heavy and feels slow....no sure if I will ever switch from the Porsche.

I traded a year old MB GLA

 By: JerryW : September 1st, 2017-21:34
It was a spare car. Thought it would be nice to have a small suv and then decided we needed something larger. I was not impressed with the GLA but decided to test drive the larger MBs. Sure glad I went to visit the Porsche dealership. Now my wife barley d...

Biggest problem is the braking.

 By: patrick_y : September 7th, 2017-15:52
The braking on all the larger Mercedes-Benz SUVs including the AMG models is a bit lackluster. And they wear quickly. No more drilled rotors on SUVs Mercedes!

Yes, I don't get that feel of confidence but maybe it's just not getting used to it...

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 8th, 2017-00:52
One test drive might not be enough....anyway, I still like the Cayenne S for now.

Following your thought process...

 By: patrick_y : September 7th, 2017-15:51
All of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles I've gotten have been the last ones of their model years and they've been relatively reliable. I did like the 2015 Cayenne Turbo I got to drive for a night. Great car. And good brakes.

MB G! MB G! No doubt in my mind!

 By: patrick_y : September 7th, 2017-15:48
In the meanwhile, take good care of the 2014 Cayenne!

Why? Why? Just because it feels more prestigious driving it?

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 8th, 2017-00:55
I can only say it takes a while to adjust my eyes to like the shape of the G. It might be mistaken for a jeep, lol....boxy, old style... You can tell I'm more of a modern style person, but things can change 😬

I don't have a lot of G-wagon experience.

 By: patrick_y : September 8th, 2017-16:27
But the little experience I have had on the highway does seem to indicate the car is a bit dated. The car was noisy on the highway. The handling isn't great. But I love the look and the fact that it's significantly hand-built. But, what I love about the G...

a plainly ugly utility vehicle in its first iterations to one of the sleekest, most luxurious SUVs on the market in a fairly brief amount of time. Bravo! Thanks for the post, cheers, Filip

Some people prefer the higher up seat position and climb instead of crawling into their cars, but you were right about other things, and according to IIHS, of all the fatal road accidents in the US, 58% were regular cars and 24% were SUV, which doesn't se...

For those with kids:

Generally more convenient luggage space and easier ingress/egress I believe.

If you want a car wwhich handles great and with plenty of room for kids and luggage, then a good old luxury full size from the late 60's early 70's is the car to have

Two models loaded with a whole batch of goodies come to my mind, the 1969-1973 Imperial Crown Le Baron And 1969/1973 Mercury Grand Marquis Brougham Both models loaded with a full batch of goodies, with a gigantic trunk and of course a big block engine wit...

...I don't quite understand where you are coming from. I have SUV, sports cars and driven plenty of sedans so it's not as I'm coming from the position of a SUV diehard. Whilst you personally may not understand the appeal of a SUV, there are plenty of peop...

Totally agreed on all counts.

 By: ThomasM : August 31st, 2017-08:16
There seems to be quite a bit of strong dislike, bordering on hate, for SUV's from a (large) minority, which is fascinating in a way...And for me personally, I would take a well engineered, well made SUV over a La Bamba most of the time...just my personal...

+1 to that

 By: AnthonyTsai : August 31st, 2017-09:53
I have a SUV along with various other cars and find the SUV a perfect car to travel with the family especially if you have an infant. Makes strapping in and out of the infant much easier and faster due to the higher elevation of the car.

I am not a SUV fan but I bought a 2017 Cayenne for my wife

 By: JerryW : August 31st, 2017-21:02
I must say if I ever grow up and buy a four door ride I would buy a Cayenne. It is very comfortable and drives extremely well.

Apparently there will be no Cayenne Diesel this time around

By: COUNT DE MONET : August 31st, 2017-02:17
I am not sure if people outside Germany followed "Diesel-gate", where German engineers have manipulated, with blatantly simple techniques, emission measures but If I am not mistaken I heard on the news that a Diesel Cayenne will not be produced anymore, a...

Laziest Re-design ever!

 By: patrick_y : September 7th, 2017-15:47
Remember back when the Porsche 911 changed from 996 to 997? Back around 2004? The press and the people called it the laziest Porsche redesign ever. This one eclipses that one. The wheelbase is even exactly the same! Other than the 48V electrics, is the ac...
