Sorry to hear about this...
When I was doing some research during my dilemma between the AP 15202 and PP 5711, I came across a particular comparison between the AP 15202 and the AP 15305 open-worked, where the reviewers mentioned something along the lines of "Well, with at least with the AP 15305 and its 3120 movement, one doesn't need to baby the watch".
This caught my attention as I would consider an open-worked watch a far more delicate piece. And babying the watch is one thing I'm not particularly known for, other than of course wearing it sensibly so that I don't cause it any scratches and nicks. I travel a lot for business, weather notwithstanding, on all sorts of transportation, in all sorts of paces, and it was painfully clear that I couldn't afford to have something I needed to baby, even if it looked drop-dead gorgeous like the AP 15202.
So I made the heart-wrenching decision to forgo the 15202 in the favour of the PP 5711, which has so far been withstanding my hectic lifestyle. Totally looking towards the day AP makes a revamped 2121 movement, that is more robust, still without the center seconds, quick-set date, and just as beautiful if not even more. I know, I'm asking for the impossible probably, but I do wonder, is it really? Strong hint, AP!
