I bought my 15202 at my favorite AP Boutique. I never gave thought as to whether it is a premium over a Rolex or other steel sports watch, I wanted the watch, and that is where I decided to buy it from.
Perhaps seeing 3 other blue dial APs in London was a coincidence, or maybe that market has a high demand for those models. AP makes less than 30,000 watches per year, I think Rolex is over 750k. AP has also offered blue dial Royal Oaks for as long as I can remember, so it is not a trend for them. In my experience, I see Rolexes everywhere, but seldom an AP.
So for me, the 15202 remains a very exclusive timepiece.

Ok, I stand corrected I got the 40k number from an interview with the CEO (2016), but those were sales numbers, not manufacturing. At 4:40 min
No worries. This year will likely exceed
the currently posted 32k / year number, but 40 seems to be a number AP does not want to surpass for now. At the end of the day, I feel it is still a reasonable production number. I imagine a myriad of factors go into the annual production and planning.

Seems like when they introduced the RG Blue dial 15202 it was a boutique piece for about 18 months.
