Let me see....
I would say that the cushions are of medium softness. Their sides appear to be plastic pieces covered in foam and then suede(faux), while the middle is just foam covered in the same material. They are slightly compliant, but you can strap the watches tightly around them so that the watches don't slip. The lid of the box, when closed, puts a little pressure on the watches so that they don't move around. I put the plastic around them to make sure that they don't bump against each other( I have two 48mm Wyler chronos that when put together, almost touch). Hopefully this explanation makes some sense.

Zack, Thank you for the recommendation. I was in North America and went into the Oakley store and grabbed a large and a small. They are outstanding value and protect the watch really well. My ROC doesn't seem to fit in the small one, so that's for my wife...
