500 piece LE, modeled after a 1940s chronograph, but not a replica. I totally love it, even the 2-tone, which is usually a no go for me. $50k, so not inexpensive. M4

Taking a good look at this skillful modern idealization of a 40s piece, it looks strange and marvelous to my eyes.
The steel, rose, and gilt make a dissonant harmony of another age. The movement, however, really seems posed to carry AP forward, and is beautiful in form and finish.
AP should fire the person in charge of naming new products. What's up with these wacky names?
I’m not a two-tone guy, but this will appeal to many others. Maybe I’m asking for too much but, at this price point, part of me thinks that it should be manually-wound.

I like the vintage dial, but don’t love the two-tone case, although I suspect it will be popular. Also would prefer a manual, not automatic, movement. Could be just the reflection off the dial, but the rose gold seems to have a copper tint. Pricing seems ...
I don't think so. The watch it is modeled on was also 2-tone.

The rotor design looks as if it comes from an ETA- trainee. Dont like their distribution-strategy either.
Not seeing much to dislike with the rotor.
As far as distribution strategy, although AP is calling it a LE, it's a 500 piece run so they'll be around for quite awhile (especially at $50k each). M4 ...

At first glance I really like this one...
...with a couple of caveats. The rose gold is a bit too 'brassy' to me. Personally I would have preferred yellow gold over platinum or white gold at this price. The yellow of the dial and the hour/minute hands could use a bit more contrast. And the univer...
Oh...a really important point...
thinner! A manual-wind would probably be a good way to achieve this and be truer to the original.
