By the way both of the watches in the photos are mine. The gold bracelet despite being 50% thinner than the SS is very heavy (I do not have a scale). If the bracelet weighed twice as much as a result of being as thick as the SS bracelet...

...it would be wholly unwearable unless you’re Shaq or Arnold. The watch is extremely heavy as is and I think it’s at the peak of its weight for wearability for an entire day. Many times I’m happy and relieved to take it off at night as it is so heavy. Couldn’t imagine it being any thicker. For the hollowed machining on the gold clasp whereas the SS is not hollowed, the craftsmanship is impressive and makes the SS bracelet appear unfinished in comparison.

A point overlooked until now!

I may be able to guess why, but does the thinner bracelet of the gold APs wear thinner?
I would agree with you...

Besides I do not think that the additional cost for the extra gold is an actual factor. I think that if we consider the actual cost of gold, the art of making it is what makes a Cartier gold ring, for example, more expensive than the corner no name jewelr...
I was actually being cynical :)

But I wonder whether it really wears differently due to the differences in bracelet thickness
Interesting!

Maybe a silly question as gold, despite being a softer metal, should still be sturdy at that thickness. But is the “sturdiness” or “robustness” of the bracelet negatively affected by the reduced thickness as compared to SS? BW, Chi Kai
Joking

At first I thought you were joking but then I saw the pictures. I can think of one or two reason why making it thinner could be justified ie if you wear gold it’s unlikely the watch will be out through same tough circumstances than steel so doesn’t have t...
