Hi,
Buying steel Luxury and iconic sports watches have become tougher and specially with grey market soaring prices and new comers allowing these grey marketers to charge silly premiums . I have been on a Ap waiting list for the 15202ti/Pt, Ap ceramic QP & also the Ap steel skeleton double balance for almost 6 months to two years and now and the standard reply from the boutoque is that we cannot commit on specific time however you are on the list... it is so frustrating to wait and probably by next SIHH Ap May have some other novelty and one may not like the piece ordered and this stigma will go on...
How can they control grey market ? They implement a system whereby they don’t issue a warranty to the client or end user and reserve it with them and thru special software system recognise the client when he brings in the watch for repairs himself . Or by not issuing warranty or releasing warranty booklets for atleast 6 months when watches are delivered and this would deter many resellers and buyers ...
Patek is facing same issue and FP Journe with its CB chronometer has an application to fill and a wait of one year now ...further to add misery Rolex Daytona , Sky Dweller and Hulk and all are in the same category...what to do ? Your thoughts !
