AP Royal Oak Offshore forged carbon
Feb 10, 2021,19:09 PM
Hi, I’m seriously 😐 considering this piece but have a couple of concerns. Does anyone know how sharp the case bevel is supposed to be? Compared to my mint 15300st’s very sharp original finish this one seems a bit dull. The lug to strap area particularly. Is this normal? I’ve never seen a new condition piece so I’d like the benefit of a more knowledgeable frame of reference.
The forged carbon is appealing to me as is the overall look 👀
I was impressed with the fit for a 44mm
but maybe I’m being a bit optimistic for my 17.4cm wrist 🤔 so would welcome any opinions on the fit
Thanks 🙏

The carbon is such a unique look that I love. The bezel in particular looks polished, which is surprising considering its carbon and I'd think you wouldn't want to polish it. More specifically, I usually judge whether a bezel has been polished by looking ...
Gotcha

Thanks! Based on some photos I just saw of the offshores, it seems the bezel is a bit different than the standard royal oak, and perhaps the smaller distance is expected. Great looking watch!
Looks correct

The bezel should be the “satin finish” which looks correct. I personally love this size and it’s very wearable on a smaller wrist. I don’t have a large wrist but love big watches and this one is brilliant. Great choice. ...
My case is ceramic...

So I can’t comment on the forged carbon case.
I have this exact reference --

My thoughts: I did extensive research into a perceived "weakness" in the carbon fiber. AP had all-carbon cases/bezels before they designed this one (Alinghi, etc.) and they put the ceramic bezel on the 26400 to prevent the "chipping" that may happen in ca...
Thanks holdemchamp I appreciate the vote of confidence. It's true, likely

because ceramic allows for the usual AP finish standard and ability to match case and bezel it may be more popular. The perpetual black ceramic is a stunning piece. The fact that AP isn't using forged carbon anymore (I believe) may contribute as well. I'v...

I still think it's the best looking 44mm ROO because of the contrast between the case and bezel, and the other bits. Very comfortable, very light. My case looked pristine during that time.
