AP LE's...
Hello Joseph,
"These are the most collectable brands because they are managed by
people who understand that the true connoisseurs want a watch that is
worthwhile buying on its own merits."
Do you know that many of the AP LE's are requested by the AD's/Boutique managers and not HQ?
"Also, Patek and Rolex are the best performers at auctions."
As for your comparison to Patek and Rolex, you are equating it with investment at auction, which is not why most of us here buy watches. We buy it because we enjoy it.
"Patek very rarely does limited editions. Ok, they ofeten discontinue
their lines and hence make very few 2499s, 5970s, 5004s, what have you."
Isn't producing few watches and discontinuing them in a way producing a Limted Edition? You could argue that they cater to flippers/grey marketers/ and hype up of the brand and not "connoisseurs".

IMHO, the various versions of Royal Oak Limited Editions doesn't really bother me. It gives us more options to enjoy the different color combinations. And I really don't care too much about what watches go for at auctions because I buy watches to enjoy, n...

that at the end of the day, watch makers are to make money also. true, some create masterpieces that we all love and admire but they (watchmakers) have families to feed (as we all do) So if they create several limited editions that means that there is a d...
