I have 2 dealers I have worked with over the span of my collecting, which started in 2000. They treat me like gold, even though there have been periods of a few years where I did not purchase from them at all. AP, I have purchased almost exclusively from a US Boutique since 2007, so I have a good track record.
"Social media influencers" - this is so funny to me. I can think of a few in particular who have acquired massive collections within a year or two, and are regarded as experts by so many who also have no clue. But that is the world we live in these days.
Keep on trucking, my Friend...

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Titanium for US Market

 By: MichaelC : September 10th, 2021-14:12
AP just dropped a new dial, titanium cased 41mm Perpetual Calendar Royal Oak. This watch is being launched initially in the US market, with limited availability elsewhere beginning next month. I want one! ...

Yet another variation...

...but it's quite nice. I wonder if I'd be disappointed paying $80k and wearing such a light watch?

As someone who tried unsuccessfully to obtain an out-of-market titanium PC...

I am rather pleased with this one. And I prefer the US dial to the ones targeted in Japan and China (I tried for the latter, black and grey dial with the small red accents).

Wow! Looks spectacular Michael! I want one too!

Maybe we can get a combo discount - LOL

Ha ha... we both wish!

Definitely a beauty!!!

I am wondering what will be around the corner... Peter

Yes, what other Oaks are due...

A 39mm we know. But what else is lurking?

Love Titanium

I wonder what these look like in-person. Personally, I am a huge fan of titanium. The coolest part is how it self-heals with oxidation.

Likewise. I was told at the factory some years ago it was the most difficult material to work with.

So much ceramic nowadays. And I love AP's cermet. Tantalum? I wish!

Shall Try! (in vain)

When the red-accented iteration was unveiled, I began hoping for a NA variant in Ti. Here it is! I will try to get one, no-doubt unsuccessfully, but where's the fun in staying on the sidelines. If any live photos surface, please share! HAGWE, Colton

I tried for the China edition. I could not get one.

Ultimately, I like this dial more without the red, and blue and grey is classic AP. I don't care about LE status, and would be thrilled to get one of these. We will see.

Our list is growing!

Look at that finish...

Only AP can do such finishing on titanium. Must be a lot more resistant to scratches compared to SS.

Very nice! I want one too!

No message body

Yes! I'd love an AP Community piece!

If only they'd supply us!

I'm crossing my fingers!

Just let me know and I'll carve a portion of money out of my bank account! Maybe sell a kidney to raise the funds!

I would expect you could corral one, but who knows the total availability.

This one is not designated as a "limited edition", but AP tends to produce a watch like this in very minimal quantities over a period of a few years.

Maybe Michael but from the looks of it, AP, Patek, Rolex, etc...are all favoring BIG spenders and whales more so than loyal collectors with lengthy histories...

Of course there are exceptions but from what I have seen around me MORE THAN I would like to admit, the ADs and boutiques have favored business over relationships. Anyone who cannot see that or refuses to see that is in denial. I CAN and HAVE seen this DO...

I would have guessed you would be in this category

 By: MichaelC : September 18th, 2021-14:39
You have some real AP whales for sure. I stopped collecting Panerai from my local AD back around the time the 127 was launched. I had been a loyal spender on the brand for years, building a rather nice grouping of PAMs. They received 2-3 pieces, and would...

Trust me, I know how you feel Michael. Like you, I have been collecting for a very long time (29 years) and over that time I have built relationships with multiple ADs and boutiques. A few have been great and treated their loyal clients respectfully...

while others have gone for the easy money. I don't blame or judge them but I have vowed to not contribute or patronize their businesses further. I purchase watches more frequently than I would like to admit BUT compared to the "true" whales, I am small po...
