Initial Photos of the Gronefeld One Hertz in TI with Blue Dial
Greetings to all! Timely that Don has just posted his excellent review of the Grönefelds' watches from Basel this year, as I have just returned from a very brief trip to the Netherlands to visit the "Boys" and now have something new to show. I'm pleased to report that Bart and Tim were kind enough to make me a bit of a custom job -- the excellent Titanium case One Hertz, but with the gorgeous blue dial usually reserved for the PT version.
A full "road trip" report to follow, as well as posts with more photos and my usual "wearing impressions" report after I've gotten some wrist time in. For now, please accept the following couple of images, taken on the desktop of my hotel room without benefit of tripod, tent, or lights -- and with the 105 2.8 Macro rather than my usual 85mm PC-E.
Enough poor-mouthing! Hope you enjoy these, and that they hold everyone over until I can get home and find some time to do a better job of it:

Am running out of superlatives ! Its quite ironic, but sometimes I fear the resolving power of these new sensors. Leaves nothing to the imagination ! And Good thing u cleaned the watch real well !

If you are strongly drawn to the watch, I do not think that you will be at all disappointed with it -- in my opinion it very much stands up to (or even exceeds) the expectations that I had for it. I've seen the Dune, and I think that it looks great. On so...

That movement is really distinctive
...and may not be 100 percent to every person's taste, but to me the design choices (bridge number and shape, use of steel as a bridge material, etc.) were both daring and successful. Glad you enjoyed! Best, Gary

That is, one that does not involve a glass of beer? I already learned that one :-) Glad to be in the club! I did consider the Techniek but at the end of the day (as Tim noted) I am perhaps a bit more attuned to classic looks so went with the solid dial --...

But they all revolve around alcoholic drinks... From the solid dials, the blue is in my opinion the one to have and I agree that in your collection this one fits better but there is always room for both as they look like different watches :-) Cheers Andre...

Two years later, and the entirely favorable impression . . .
. . . made at first glance has only deepened. The One Herz is one of very few watches that strike me as a wholly successful design, both overall and in detail. Terrific images, Gary, as usual. Please bring this one along on the next trip South . . .
