as always, these are all subjective, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all that! 🤗


I agree that the new bridge has more interior angles. But, I do like the shape of the anchor, because it is quite distinctive and it has been a signature of the ZW family of watches for a long time. The straight bridge on the newer one doesn't look as interesting to me, despite the interior angles.

Another thing I like about the old movement is the exposed maltese cross. If you look at the barrel closely, you can actually see the sudden incremental unwinding at the top of each minute, and the subsequent flow of power downstream. Also, just by looking at how the teeth of the maltese cross engage with the slots, you can tell when the PR is close to AUF, without even looking at the PR indicator on the dial side. Such points of visual and technical interest are missing on the new one.

But, again, these are both awesome movements in their own ways.
