To clarify, my main criticism of the Lange 1 movement finishing is that although the quality is good, there's not a lot of it and movement is not well exposed

The amount of hand engraving is relatively small, and a lot of it is hidden by the swan neck regulator. The 3/4 plate reduces the amount of anglage required, and there are no interior angles. The 3/4 plate is covering almost everything up and you can't get a view of much else other than it and the balance cock.
Lang & Heyne in my opinion is the best German brand with regards to finishing for a time-only watch. A Friedrich III can be had in steel and has an incredibly good looking movement. Moritz Grossmann is probably a close second, and also has some interesting steel offerings like the enamel Benu. From the Swiss, I might consider some similarly priced watches from Vacheron, Breguet, and Parmigiani to be more finished overall. if you go up in price a little more to ~36K, you could get a Gronefeld Principia. And if you're willing to look at some micro brands, there are some such as Pascal Coyon that are offering incredible finishing in that price range as well.
Btw, I own a Moritz Grossmann. Movement shot of it below:
