This one seems also to me the masterpiece of the salon. I love everything, the caliber for sure, the presentation is typically Lange and very traditional.
I understand the big date seems to miss for Datograph fans but the more I see it, the more I think it would have been a big mistake to add it imho.
The dial balance, the added thickness would have ruined a watch which is already a beast.This way it reminds me Lange pocket watch this classic presentation, very nice, very "1815" .
Talking of the date and thickness, I think everyone agrees on the 1815 chronograph, the Datograph is considered by as a masterpiece and an important piece in horological history but not everyone can wear it, the DS has... split feelings because of this added thickness.
Nice photo of the platinum version btw... quite happy to see it from that point of view
