Like everyone's input before I made a decision. A Lange Saxonia thin 37mm ref 201.027 or the now discontinued Saxonia 35mm ref 219.026. ...

Just can't do the "dead dial". I need to see something moving.

Besides trying on both in the metal to check fit and wearing comfort, I would give the edge to 2 over 3 hands. I used to be of the view that a running second was a plus but after getting my drive de cartier (handwound, 2 hands) I have changed my thinking ... 

But, as always, it’s a matter of purely personal taste. The 35mm is a great choice too if you want a less empty dial and a less slowly moving hand. Imo, even though it’s the entry level model, the Saxonia Thin is one of ALS’s best pieces.

But...go with the one that makes you smile when you look at it - and that way you truly can't go wrong.

I am looking for a WG, simple dress watch. I have long admire A Lange's work so like to experience one first hand. I like both versions a lot and value this forum's input 😊

Even if I like small seconds usually, I find the dial of the Saxon Thin more elegant. And 35 mm is a bit tiny IMHO. All the best Nicolas

Even though the movement in the Thin is even more fabulous, I found it a little too stark. The slightly more filled dial look you get in the 35mm with the sub seconds and the minute markers give the 35mm a much warmer look (even in white metal!). ...  

Interesting, from your pics, looks to wear closer to a 36-37 mm

The small seconds can be useful on a daily basis but if you’re looking for an elegant dress watch for special occasions, the Saxonia Thin is as good as it gets.

my current collection consists of all steel sports watches. I am just looking for something a little less chunky this time 😅 (I usually tell time by looking at my mobile phone though)

I almost bought a white gold piece, but instead came back to another rose gold. All my other watches are steel, so the rose gold tone switches it up . Good luck and keep us posted! If you have the means, I will certainly agree that you can’t go wrong with... 

The dial is more interesting to look at. Have you checked out 1815 yet? Either previous gen 36 mm or current gen 38.5 mm? Having owned both, I’d highly recommend them. Especially worth considering in this ALS price category

was actually in my consideration. I just prefer the one color hands and hour markers this time.

Yes, a two hand watch is very quiet. But the ultimate simplicity can be very beautiful. What was said about it wearing thin can happen with very intricate pieces as well. Did you check the first generation Saxonia thin? The 40mm with the cabochons in addi... 

In the past, we almost never had people asking a public forum about what watch they should choose. How can a public forum decide this? As this is a personal decision. It's like do you want to wear a white shirt or a blue shirt today? It's up to the wearer...  

When I was preparing to buy my Cartier Santos, I mentioned the variant I was considering and a forum member pointed out the advantages of the ADLC coating on the case and how it was scratch resistant compared to the all steel case. It was an aspect I fail... 

And I would find that to be a very fair question when a watch incorporates some unusual technology. For example a DLC coating. If you asked me that question or a question about silicon escapements, that'd definitely warrant further discussion. IF the disc...

I think but mods if I am wrong please remove while the Lange boutique can sell you a current retail model, you can consider a past generation Langematik w/ the micro rotor 1) It has one of the BEST BEST automatic movements 2) It's still thin at about 9mm ...

I ordered the Saxonia Thin 37mm today 😊 The longer hours of power reserve and the appearance of the case back tilted my decision. Again, I appreciate everyone's time and input. Most helpful.
