1815 Chrono Gen II:
By: willski : August 29th, 2017-05:29
Hi all, Thought I\'d post some pics of my 1815 chrono for no particularly good reason I was, and remain, a big fan of this reference. Slim, white dial, and blue hands make for an attractive package, although it can be seen as a bit too sober. The Dato is ...
Thanks Alkiro!

I definitely like manual wind chronos, and would like to add more. Only problem is the nice ones are not cheap!
Thanks Mike.

And indeed, for all those reasons a keeper!
Great pic of the whole movement!

So this could/should be the generational watch, from father to son; it would be just right. 😀
Haha yes.
By: willski : August 29th, 2017-07:37
I hope that's the case!
In my opinion

one of the best finished chronograph movements in the market. Wearing it on your wedding day means this watch should always be a part of you
Hi Sham.

Thanks and agreed and agreed!
Thanks Zagreb!

Same goes to you too with your gems 👍
Thank you!

I'm hoping to be able to pass on many goodies (as long as he behaves...!)
First photo is the best, and I will give you my reasoning!!!

We all know how exquisite Lange's movements are, they are the best in the business. However, IMO, what often gets overlooked is the dial side, especially on the 1815 range. I believe it is because these pictures are hard to take, and unless you have held ...
Thank you Imran.

The first photo is also my favorite, in large part due to the reasons you mention.
Such a great, versatile piece.

Congrat's on your newborn son. The 1815 Chrono will be a wonderful heirloom for him. Cheers, John
Thank you John.

In the meantime...I will be sure to enjoy it!

The memories you have associated with this watch are invaluable indeed. Enjoy
Thanks Nico.

I wonder if and when Lange will replace it.
I have the same thought.
By: willski : August 30th, 2017-07:22
No point replacing just for replacement's sake; only worth it if substantial progress is made.
Thanks Raymond!

You definitely should get a mechanical chronology - the "glass city" on the backside are a joy to examine. The boutique edition is good looking, and the new WG/black dial is a stunner as well. Also, there's always the Dato!
Thanks Keks!

It's a pleasure to wear, and fun to look at the movement as well.
Breathtaking.

I'm definitely saving up for the 1815 Boutique edition. I was on the fence between the VC Cornes de Vache and the 1815 but the Lange movement is breathtaking.
Thank you! The L951 movement is indeed a beauty.
By: willski : August 29th, 2017-14:29
The Cornes de Vache is also a great chrono, but I also have a preference for the 1815. Having said that, I saw pictures of a bespoke CdV (I think belonging to Wei Koh) that were really stunning.

Congrats on the birth of your son - you should certainly pass this on to him when the time comes.
Thanks CR!

The simple front and business backside were a big part of the attraction for me.
Great shots!

I have thought about flipping my 1815 Chrono for other watches. But like you I have a sentimental attachment to it. And even to this day I am always blow away every time I look at the movement.
Hi Kamy.

Many thanks! The 1815 is over 3 years old (or young) now. My bracelet and sports watches have actually taken many beatings and are 'well loved'...but for some reason my strap watches have fared a lot better. I hope I didn't jinx myself here!
Keep it forever

1815 Chrono is gorgeous. IMHO it is not worth it to trade it with Dato except the Double Split.
Thanks Gelato Monster.

The Dato and DS are true Lange icons...it's a silver lining for me that the DS is way too big and hence off any potential wish list!
