I think ALS is a bad way to refer to the brand. I sadly lost my brother to this brute of a disease. When he was diagnosed I felt so guilty and sad that I impulsively sold my datograph. I since re purchased this great watch as I realised that my impulsiveness to sell it really made no sense in relation to my brothers plight. Now when I look at the watch I think of him fondly.

For me, it is Lange or Lange Und Sohne or LS. I didn't even think about ALS!

He died from ALS. He was untypical. Most ALS patients die faster. I don't think that we have to check shorts in any language. But when it is in English or German, than it is not optimal. I think Lange for LS is a good solution.

I don't use "ALS" for that same reason.
I assume a few readers have negative associations to "ALS," and it costs me nothing more to type "Lange" instead, so that has been my choice. "Lange" is also unambiguous.
