Weekend warrior watches - I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.

Sep 17, 2021,07:50 AM

Dear purists

Several of us incorporate different parts of our collection to different days of the week and different activities, with weekend activities/duties being an important part of our week

My weekend duties include activities with my two young boys. Scooting, biking, swimming, building lego sets etc etc

…and for that, nothing but the scratch-proof bomb-proof mariana-trench-ready Sinn U50S fits the bill.

What’s your weekend activities/duties watch?

500M WR is clearly overkill for this splash park

The deep abyss of this black dial (with the addition of the copious anti-reflective coating of the crystal) reminds me of the aforementioned Mariana Trench 🤣😜

See all the anti-black-polishing and lug-dinging equipment and personnel that are part of my weekend?

The Air King: And the Tudor Black Bay Red. Two " no fears " watches. ...

Great picks, as always, Nico.

That is a “Sin”! Oops I meant

Sinn. I just saw it in boutique. That is a nice watch. They used to give steep less but now not so. Nonetheless, that is still a great watch. And the young man is handsome! Should attract lots of gal next time when he grow older!

🤣🤣🤣 nice one.

My regional retailer gave me a nominal discount, just to appease me. I got it when they had a 13 week wait period. They seem to be more readily-available from the manufacturer now, and if you live outside of the EU, you can save the VAT. And thanks for th...

Great question. I usually go for my Grey Side of the Moon - ceramic on nylon strap. Wishing everyone a great weekend! Cheers, Jérôme Green nato Omega strap ...

Cool combo with nylon straps!

Thanks 🙏

That looks fabulous. But I worry about my wrecking crew chipping the ceramic.

 By: Lankysudanese : September 17th, 2021-08:17
My worries are probably unfounded. Have a great weekend

Was indeed of of my concerns originally

 By: Jp75 : September 17th, 2021-17:19
It was indeed one of my concerns originally. Meanwhile I’m fine with it: no scratch, no dent and a low weight that makes it a good weekend watch, especially on nylon/NATO strap. I understand that Ceramic will not dent but could potentially crack or chip -...

You would be correct in that there aren’t many such reports on this forum.

 By: Lankysudanese : September 17th, 2021-17:22
But there are a few YouTube videos of IWC ceramic cases cracking. Judging by the deep lug dings/bends on my Batman, nothing is beyond the reach of my ‘wrecking crew’. That GSTOM is pure horological class, though. Dial. Case. Movement. 👌🏿

Blackbay for me

 By: Cookies : September 17th, 2021-08:26
This is my best weekend warrior watch for hiking and supermarket visits.=D ...

Likewise, inspired by your red blackbay.

I recalled u got the piece really early when it was released.

It really is meant to get battlescars

 By: Cookies : September 17th, 2021-09:46
It looks more beautiful with the scratches and dings.

Since my emergency rescue shift is on weekends normally ...

... I mostly wear my reliable and robust Tudor Pelagos LHD: Marcus ...

And I nearly forgot to mention that one - most fitting:

Superb with its red strap!

Have you guys seen the Sinn EZM 12. Sounds like Sinn should offer one to Marcus, to help in his job ...

I didn't know this one!

The St Gallen brings back memories from a decade ago when so many posts of it were made here.

That’s my choice too!

 By: cazalea : September 17th, 2021-13:38
It looks and feels indestructible (whether it is, I cannot say). ...

Like everything else that is solid, this is probably unobtainable in today’s world.

 By: Lankysudanese : September 17th, 2021-14:52
Would I be incorrect in this assumption?

Currently two vie for those slots:

IWC 3706 And Panerai 973: But the truth is, tough watches eager for outdoor duty have been calling to me more and more lately, so I suspect they're going to get another competitor soon. ...

Awesome picks, especially the PAM.

 By: Lankysudanese : September 17th, 2021-11:28
Is that the new 42mm submersible?

It certainly is

 By: blau : September 17th, 2021-13:32
I *love* wearing it. I'd never owned a Panerai before this one, but this just a great watch.

That’s a very enticing configuration, too.

Love that combo my friend! On my side it would be my BB

You have many great choices at your disposal.

 By: Lankysudanese : September 18th, 2021-13:39
And this Darth Vader is the best equipped of them all. Love it

Wow, Bill. I haven’t seen Sinn divers pictured in a more natural habitat.

You wear the U1 very well. Enjoy, and thanks for the support
