Maybe a OP oversight...

Hello,

In fact it's the same process on every OP in-house caliber, the first notch serves to change the date (normaly) with hour-to-hour jump or ajusting time zone (like Patrick said) i.e. the first notch on the P9000 does it too.
There's a P2002 in the PAM 339, same caliber that PAM 268, PAM 233 etc..My guess is that Panerai did not remove (or forgot to remove) the first notch even the watch don't have the date fonction...

My 2 ct (and sorry for my bad english)

there are still two notches for time adjustment when you pull out the crown. Similar to the 200/201/233/289, the 1st notch would allow you to adjust hour hand while the second notch would let you advance both hands, And that seems to be the case on the 33...

Great if you are travelling

And that is something that I think Panerai shoud have corrected with these models that do not have the date and GMT function.

I'm not so sure about that..

As I can imagine the 'correction' would add a premium to the price tag. I'm happy with the piece/price as is!

That is a very useful function...

Especially if you travel a lot... By the way, congratulations on this 339! A very beautiful watch indeed... This might be one of the best post-vendome era Panerai.. Best, Sam
