Nautilus 40 years Anniversary models
Dear Friends,
I do not comment yet these watches. Even Patek Philippe were very aware of my earlier comments, I was offered an opportunity to study the watches closer. I took wrist shots from different angles in order to help you to form a better idea than the one based of press pictures.
I am very grateful for my friends in Patek who gave me this opportunity.
But let's have a look. The pictures are taken with iPhone 7 and they are not modified in any ways. In order to help you to understand the sizes, my wrist is 8 inches/200 mm.
Now it would be great to hear your opinions.

the diamond markers do not look bling bling and printing of the years look quite subtle. Do the dials have the same blue hue ? How does the blue compare to regular 5711 and 5711P ? Cheers, Gordon

From the picture seems the engraving on dial is almost invisible? Is it so in real life? If so it will be a great news: subtle engrave that you will only notice at certain angle！
The anniversary print is nearly invisible and please note that the watch is much smaller
than the press photos or mine. I guess the owner will see the text because the owner knows that the print is there. But for sure a person next to the owner will not see the print nor understand that the indexes are actually diamonds. Best, Kari

Great shots and the dial on the 5711P looks absolutely stunning when it goes very dark blue/black.
The blue brings into my mind Andaman Sea
and its deep blue waters. By the way: one of the finest diving spots of the whole world. If I would buy (and get the allocation), I would use once 5711P and a dive. No weights needed on the left side... Best, Kari

I think the Chrono because of the size but having seen neither in the flesh I need to reserve judgment! What remains clear is that the live photos are indeed giving a far more appealing impression of them both.

They are well done watches.
My only comment is that they are suppose to be sport watches in the maritime mode , so to be made of platinum would contradict the sports mode then it has bling. Making it more dress watch than a sports watch. But this just my opinion. But its an annivers...

I have roughly a dozen of platinum Patek
and I always love the additional weight the material gives. Furthermore, I love the cold platinum colour. So the weight is not the issue. Best, Kari

Still not loving the epitaph on the dial, but that's it. Many customers will be happy to receive their anniversary nautilus
From the back 5711 is same as the standard
version and the chronograph movement is the same as in 5980. I did not take photos from the back because I did not want to show the serial #. Best, Kari

It feels very heavy - like it would be made of massive platinum.

They are beautiful, especially the dark color changes on the dial. To be honest, I forgot about the date markings until it was mentioned on the posts. It just shows how subtle they are.
Patek has some wonderful cufflinks.

The movement is the same as in 5980
but in the Anniversary chronograph the case is (much) bigger. These facts are placing the date window to a little bit unnatural place. My first thought when I took the watch to my hands was "would have been better without date". Best, Kari

your AD had to submit your name by the end of last week. Allocation has this week taken place and people have been advised of their allocation. No idea if further rounds of allocation will take place or if it is being done the same elsewhere.

AD submits name of person deemed suitable for the allocation. Application form completed and notified if allocation is approved. AD can take names to submit next year for pieces that fell through during delivery. Need to submit address as well since it is...

What do you mean by saying "yellowish hue"?
The colours of 5711 and 5976 are very similar. The white gold case of 5976 did not have any yellowish hue as far as I could see. But as a fan of platinum, the choice would be easy for me in case I would get one. Best, Kari

My PP rep clearly stated (prior to the announcement of the 5711P LE) that the regular 5711P special order will no longer be made. (Unless you hear something else otherwise).
The difference is not big. Well,
platinum looks like platinum. That's why I love platinum. But the WG is not yellowish at all. It's just not platinum but gold. Best, Kari

The wording seems clear?
