i'm probably not sufficiently knowledgeable to appreciate the "satirical" aspects of the extreme. it certainly lived up to its name. i could appreciate that it was over the top for some. but on the right wrist, it had a pretty sharp esthetic. of course, there is the humor in a super rugged watch (how rugged, i really don't know) that was essentially overbuilt for the average purchaser of one. but that's a pretty common phenomenon across the sports watch spectrum, and in other consumables as well.
