Zenith

Have you ever loved a watch so much you had to buy another? So I was actually recently in Hong Kong on a visa run and I thought it a good opportunity to purchase a Zenith Doublematic. Although I pondered long and hard, and actually really liked the watch ...  

Some can say that is a clear cut case of madness but I already did this pairing with two other watches. One pair was made of Amvox I and the other pair was Zenith Chronomaster. My problem was that there was in all cases a favorite. Since I don't like "sad...

...it's the only "oversized" wristwatch that looks great on the wrist! Congratulations- on both of them! Tony

The downside of this watch is that it does attract alot of attention. I see eyes popping on the street, in cafes, even in a Patek AD, staff would huddle around wanting to handle the watch. It is really weird.

Or better, who knows? Well, this is not exactly the same watch, as the metal of the case changes. And your preception of the watch a bit, also. Therefore, I know many Vintage rolex guys ( including myself ) who buy 2 or more of the same watches. Aniother...  

OMG, I almost stopped breathing when I saw the picture of the 5070's laid out in a row. I would also, if I could, but I can't. Thanks Nico for the posting.

And in the case of the 5070, I can't do it, either... At least, I would have loved to get the two white metal cases of this watch! :) Best, Nicolas

but if I could afford a gold one ... yes I would buy both VERY nice pair ! I will add a black 48mm but that ain't the same as 2 times the 5011K congratulations

And the 5011 is, as you and I know, really special. Just winding the watch is an occasion and feels more like winding a clock or a music box. You and I are probably the biggest fans of this watch, and I wish others could have the opportunity to handle and...

Yes, the gold will always be special to me. Extremely heavy, yes, but as with most things, after a while, you tend not to notice. I prefer also the gold hands. Many here like white metals, but I have always preferred rose gold for the warmth. On this watc... 

But I"m afraid the combination of this size AND gold would be too much for my wrist :-) Although it is very tempting... Perhaps I will become weak when I discover a golden "special" in person :-) At first once: is it still available? As far as I know I go... 

Actually, yours is Titanium and not SS. They made them in Titanium due to the large size, and SS would have been too heavy. The 48mm GMTs are SS. The Titanium versions are quite hard to find now, but there are quite a few golds on the market. I have been ... 

I was a little bit tired last night. By the way I think it will be difficult to get a similar "emotional connection" with another watch like we have got with Type 20. Sometimes I have this feeling when it comes to some very "special" Panerai. :-) P.S: tha...
