Yes and no, Blomman.

Coincidentally we each received our watch as a high school graduation gift long before we were married. We graduated from high school the same year. I wore mine for at least four years straight hardly ever taking it off, playing intramural sports in it, showers, swimming, sleeping, everything, but I always tried to take care of it, too.  And I wore it off and on for the next 10 or so off and on.  It has been serviced, I think, three times in its life.  The most recent was just a few years ago, when I sent both it and my wife's to Rolex for a complete service  and "refresh" before putting them both away for our kids to have on day.  Mine looks mint, I have to say.  Except for some bracelet stretch, it is as good as new, and it runs that way, too.

Best,
