WristScan - Your Guide

Nov 26, 2019,04:44 AM

WristScan is a unique weekly community event, held between Friday and Sunday with photos and comment that has an element of friendly competition and banter.

It’s open to all members, so please feel that you can join in.

You can find the live thread on both the Home Page and under the WristScan tab in the menu.

It’s probably worth looking at the WristScan archive to pickup some ideas and get a feel for the weekly event.

Each week a new theme is announced by the member acting as the event host and on Friday at around 12:00 GMT, the opening theme thread is launched for you to post your photos and comments.

Three categories are available for you to enter your photos under giving you three opportunities to win or be given an honourable mention. Please try and limit your entries to one or two per category.

The categories are:

Watch Of The Week

This category will be judged by the host of WristScan and is awarded to the watch that the host believes, best represents the WristScan theme. Watch value is not the decisive factor.

Best Wrist Scan

Judged to be the best photograph of a watch on a wrist entered.

Best Static Shot

Judged to be the best photograph of a static watch, (not on a wrist) entered.

The winners of each category are announced in a “Judges Verdict” thread posted on Sunday at approximately 17:00 GMT.

Please keep in mind that the emphasis is on joining in and having fun and it’s a great way to make friends within our community.

The WristScan team are:

Cpt Scarlet, Amanico, Subexplorer and KMII.

If you need any further help with WristScan or you would like to make a comment about WristScan please feel free to send a Private Message (PM) to Cpt Scarlet, Senior WristScan Editor.

It’s a great weekly event for our community.

Can I ask if we could focus on one or two images per entry as in the olden days, rather than submitting a dozen?

That forces us to narrow down our "focus" to our best shots, and makes things a lot easier on the judges! We can't throw our whole hard drive of images at them (or other viewers) Thanks for your thoughts on this... Mike

+1 [nt]

One or two shots for each category should be sufficient. I did indicate this in the guide.

Hello dear Captain! This is a nice move publishing this guide specially to encourage...

... new members to participate in this most enjoyable feature of our Forum. I was very shy to participate when I just joined PuristS some years ago but after “spying” just a few editions I jumped n and loved it. All new members should know it doesn’t matt...

Thank you Abel....

This event has become a tradition within our community and we should continue to enjoy and encourage new members to join us.
