Static Shot Category Best Shots and Winner
Jun 20, 2021,17:24 PM
Wow it was a good week. There were many strong contenders to the Best Static Shot. Here are my choices of the week, paired with a brief explanation.
Scroll down to see the shortlisted entries.
By Brandonskinner: Panerai with a lizard - this has a summer vibe to it, and looks capable to be a desktop wallpaper. How did he manage to keep that lizard still?
By Brauner: Don't we agree that we are cuffed by horology. The GP WWTC brings back memories perhaps 8 years ago, when this watch was the watch to have. The photo has so much creativity.
By Holdenchamp: I call this "Naughty cat with Nautilus". Grey on grey on grey...puuurfection - It is technically very difficult to take a photo of a cat wearing a watch. This qualifies as a motivational wallpaper.
By John E Mac: These props bring back memories of a bygone era where playing marbles were a past-time. The splash of orange juxtaposed with the black of the PAM works well.
By Robin Lim: Thanks Robin for remembering the great Walter Lange. Nice German pens, Lange 1, and the Lange book. It matches.
By MKII: He has 2 nice shots. One of the Doxa with what looks like a Rimowa background. It is sharp and crisp. The other photo is of a Minerva with a blue strap, with absolutely matching blue gloves. Wow! Get well soon MKII!
By Han_Jorgen_1968: The Omega Ranchero matches the colour of the paper. Wow, this brings back memories of listening to the podcast by George Bamford on the Omega Ranchero - produced in the late 1950's for the Latin American market.
By Subexp: I can't wait for James Bond's No Time to Die. And a limited edition Walter Pistol. This is a Bond afficionado's dream!
And there is a tie for the Winning Entry:
Holdemchamps "Naughty Cat with Nautilus" and MKII's "Minerva Blues"
