Watch of the Week . . .
Sep 27, 2022,06:37 AM
. . . took awhile to decide.
Abel's Ed White . . .
. . . would be an obvious personal favorite. Cap's Jacques Bianchi . . .
. . . was intriguing. I'm familiar with the brand having read of it on our pages; it's the type of watch that would fit neatly into many of our collections.
gelato monster's moonphase Speedy is a design both complex and aesthetically coherent. Not easily done simultaneously, and all the more compelling for that reason.
What more can be said about Livius' Minerva?
It's the Mona Lisa of watches.
Adam's oh-so-'70s Seiko . . .
. . . had me gazing for long moments on end. My cuppa tea.
The most striking this week was enjoythemusic's Omega.
Gold (is it rose, Steve?) crafted into golden ratio proportions; the visual effect created is subliminally pleasing, unperturbed by the absence of a seconds hand.
The one that turned out to be the most intriguing was Ruffian's Longines.
That dial. Gorgeous.
Watch of the Week is a photo finish between Ruffian and enjoythemusic, with Ruffian just edging out. Both share the gold medal platform with Livius earning silver for his perennial favorite and Cap bronze for the unconventional Bianchi.
Thank you to everyone who contributed jazz musicians and selections, particularly those that were unfamiliar. This session was a learning experience for me, and then some.
A special mention to Hans who posted a telling photo of himself playing upright bass. That was most appreciated, Hans; I hope someday you'll share a sound file with us.
See you all Friday for the next session of Wrist Scan!
