The evolving sweet spot …
Oct 23, 2022,12:47 PM
Hello dear KM and friends !
I find that the “Sweet Spot” depends on the watch as size should ideally be appropriate to the watch design and concept.
The Zenith is a good example of this with its tribute to the airborne pioneers, the Pilot Montre d'Aréonef Type 20 echoes the the pioneering spirit in the early 20th century. The historical mechanical hand-wound 5011K movement meets the highest standards of reliability and precision required by the field of aviation. With its impressive diameter of 57.5 mm, I wouldn’t have it any other way !
A firm favourite for me was always the Rolex GMT-Master “Pepsi” 1675 and 16750, 40mm of Rolex perfection…
The Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta is available in two sizes, but the refined 39 mm case is a perfect companion…
Habring2 Felix has a modern cut at 38.5mm and only measures 7mm in height making it probably the sweet spot in most situations…
Have a great weekend !
Best regards
Captain
