The Theme for the April WS event will be: “Honoring Captain Scarlett” and will begin next Friday 3rd
Dear friends:
Our Community was shocked a few days ago with the sad news of the passing of our dear friend Captain Scarlett.
A true gentleman, a fine collector with great taste, a pillar of this place, and a good friend we lost.
He was supposed to host this April WS event and I will take the helm in this occasion with a broken heart.
The WS Team decided to make this April event a Tribute to our dear friend Captain Scarlett and we are asking our participants to share a watch that they feel it reminds our dear Captain.
His beautiful collection was eclectic as it included different brands and independents, as well as different types of wristwatches.
As an example I´m sharing here a Seiko Williard re edition and a rare Speedmaster 105.012 CB case which I remember he also owned and loved both so much and these timepieces always brings me fond memories of chats we had about them. (The double wrist shot I included here shows his own Speedmaster on his wrist during our unforgettable meeting with him and Mrs Scarlett in Barcelona in 2019.)
This April event will lack the charm of the beautiful Posters the Captain produced during many years to announce the different editions.

Posters which he created with much love and creativity based on pictures that the host in charge sent him in advance.

And he has not only been a titan here with lots of knowledge and a wide ranging collection but also a consummate gentleman and always a wonderful conversation partner. He will leave an unfillable hole. Let’s celebrate him this weekend!
