The April WS - Chronographs - is live!

Apr 05, 2024,10:38 AM

As announced on Wednesday, the theme for this month’s WS will be chronographs. It is still a super popular complication amongst many of us, even if many (if we are being honest) use it more to experience the pusher feel than to actually time something in anger (happy to be corrected here 😁).

As usually the WS will last till Sunday night GMT and judges and verdicts will be posted in a separate thread.

The categories are:
- wrist shot
- static
- vintage, and
- watch of the week.

Looking forward to seeing your entries and wishing you a great weekend ahead!

Seiko used to have a knack of making massive watches very wearable. Had some friends with slender wrists try the 47mm Landmaster the other day and they were all surprised at how well it fit 😊🦾

I should try it for sure. I have learned that we shouldnΒ΄t be afraid of the size of a case but it is needed to try a big case on our own wrist first. There are other considerations to view...

What a thoroughly rich selection, modern and vintage both πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ

Hard to pick a favorite from the rich selection you offer πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ» But am very partial to that Benrus Sky Chief and the 3107 πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Thank you :)

The 2446C GMT is my own favourite… but I’m partial too as it is my birth year watch

That always adds a certain something to our appreciation πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I’ve reached the age where I can pull off the β€œhat lookβ€πŸ€£. Trilbies are easier than most - working up the nerve for a Homburg!

I have a hard time with the Patek movement.

 By: Timeout : April 5th, 2024-17:01
The issue is the column wheel cap which takes up a large amount of real estate on the caseback and its polished surface is quite a distraction. The CDV movement is prettier - but they both come a distance 2nd and 3rd to the Datograph.

Haven’t noticed an issue with the reliability.

I have a fairly large number of watches so don’t tend to wear any one for more than a day or so. Ironically the only one to exhibit rate issues was the Datograph - which had become massively magnetized for some reason. The balance wheel was banking and th...

I’m no fanboy either - I try to find the positives in all brands - although some are easier than others 🀣. As far as FPJ goes I’m off the beaten track with this Linesport Rattrapante, a Havana RG Chronometre Souverain and a platinum Quantieme Perpetuel. I...
