It's a very basic story on the 2998: I stumbled upon it on the auction platform in the old days when we hardly knew anything about these and the seller description was very vague. My main reason for me to buy it was the bracelet - of all things! How "illiterate" I was at the time! Fortunately, it ran - and runs - very well and I refrained from sending it to Omega for a service. Thus this one survived the devastation that (too) many others of my NCG Speedmasters (2915,2998,105002) were subject to when serviced and "refreshed" at the Bienne factory in those days.... Geiger counter shows that lume is still "active" Same on the Heuer 2446 I/1- which is a much rarer watch...
