Static Watch of the Week

Jul 18, 2021,12:36 PM

Dear all, What a great theme and in consequence, what a nice turn-up! These watches are not often considered but all the posters here seem to have them close to their heart for their own very personal reasons. Thanks to all who participated. Having to make a choice was not easy, but after some time thinking about it, I saw in them a clear theme: celebration!

From that theme, here are my choices.

The second runner-up is Mary_Anny, celebrating the sea and its exploration. I really like the photo of this old beaten watch, which surely comes with plenty of memories and stories.

The first runner-up is a celebration of space, exploration, adventure and dreams. For this one I chose the nice photo from Subexplorer. This model is worn daily by some of the astronauts residing currently on the ISS. One of them being a fellow French man, Thomas Pesquet, who makes his country and fellow countrymen very proud.

And finally, the most difficult choice, the Static watch of the week. This one celebrates joy, happiness, holidays and hope. All those good things we need so much in the current global climate. It had to be the very special Casio from NT931.

Congratulations on the model and the great shot! Thanks again for your contributions! Best, Eklektik

I was astonished by that Casio, amused by subexplorer's astronaut display, and regarding the colorful G-Shock I am wondering how many folks at this site have one (or have ordered one since seeing this!). Congratulations to the winners. Cazalea

Well played and congratulations...
