Had to think a little bit, so I selected three:
1/ An unexpected Encounter - A first Vintage for a Lady
or The watch for Him and Her, conceptually..
Actually it's not the first watch present to my wife, but maybe one of those
with a nice little story, connected
Some 3 years ago, we were visiting Amsterdam, I for a professional convention,
and then a bit of sightseeing & strolling through this lovely City on the water;
I also had the name of a Vintage dealer , whom I wanted to visit,
but wasn't quite aware any more, where the store was..
The first morning after arrival we were having breakfast at a hotel's window,
and when looking out of the window, Bingo ! -
I discovered, that this very store was just across the small street,
and we decided to browse a bit there.
Of course, the inevitable happened: we found together a beautiful Vintage JLC 159,
35 mm, suitable for men and women, although honestly said,
maybe a ( tiny) bit better looking on hers, than on my wrist,
although I liked the piece, from the first moment on.
As I had also found a nice 2-tone Omega bumper from the 40ies, it was clear,
that the JLC was for her !.. Prices were indeed surprisingly appropriate and
we got both; the 159 for her, as a gift, and a reminder to our trip...
Enough of my dwellings, judge yourself: JLC E 159, with a beautiful greenish patina,
great condition, and IMHO, a really nice appeal to look at, on a lovely green strap..
Meanwhile, that watch has become one of her favorites, when going out, such as
for a fine dinner, or meeting friends, or when just looking for a green accent -
Thus, here we're now 360 degrees : it does fit my wrist, yes - but I just enjoy
looking on that unobtrusive, low-key, but smart & sophisticated tic-tac on her wrist !!
That JLC of her always reminds us to a beautiful three - Stop trip
through some European Cities, among which the first two - Amsterdam and Paris -
are 2 all-time favorites of us..
