WristScan

My decision

After much careful consideration and believe me it was tough. My initial thought was since this week submission were mostly static shot. My job would be a walk in the park.

But it wasn't

1st choice: Geo's Cartier Tank Duo time, which I thought will be a sure winner. The dial display a beautiful guilloche pattern combine with balance and proportionate chinese numerals. A rare attribute. (Over the years I have seen too many badly done samples) Just this alone is enough to make it a winner. However this week theme is Chinese New Year or to be political correct Lunar New Year I'm rather sad to say there isn't any presence of the element involve.

So move on to 2nd choice: Blomman's Zenith Chromnometre. This is such a powerful photo. A no nonsense watch on a no nonsense legendary character ??(Guan Gong). It is a tradition that every chinese to pay visit to the temple and make an offering to ?? before the Lunar New Year. This clever shot as Art put it qualify  to be judge in the wristscan category. There is a but ..... the offering to ?? is not limit to Lunar New Year. As a matter of fact almost every single traditional chinese celebration we will see people making offering to ??. So it is still not the photo I'm looking for to best represent our theme this week.

Finally our winner for the wristscan category. chronos-lorien' PAM 372. Every element is here. A historical tribute of a historical watch. Goes well with our theme which is a historical event and the best part is the background show the chinese zodiac animal of this year, the serpent. The 2013 give us a precise date is just icing on the cake.

Here you have it folks.

Thanks you for reading and Art for chance to be the judge.

Regard
Tyler
