Memorable Concert Experiences is live! . . .
. . . let's share our favorite performances attended
and missed along with the watch(es) on our wrist this weekend.
Passing up on Neil Diamond is one of my regrets. He performed a few times in So Cal in the last decade, but somehow I managed to miss them all. "He'll be back next year," I'd say to myself.
Then, he had to retire due to Parkinson's. The window is now closed.

Over the years I've seen hundreds of performances that run the gamut from classical to heavy metal. Some, more than once.
The Stones? Forty three times and counting since 1978. They were at their peak in '89 in my opinion, playing four sold out shows at the LA Coliseum with a hundred thousand in attendance at each.
This is the one I missed. Clapton made an appearance on
Little Red Rooster. I would've made this one, too, but my boss would only give me one day off during the week.

Several bands have announced final tours recently. Elton John just finished his; the Grateful Dead, Aerosmith, Doobie Brothers and the Eagles are all winding up careers.
If a genie granted me three wishes, these would be the performers I'd want to have the pleasure of seeing in person: Led Zeppelin . . .
. . . Bad Company . . .
. . . and Gene Clark.
"Now, wait a minute," I can hear you saying, "I get Led Zep and Bad Co, but Gene Clark?"
Yes, because only in recent years have I discovered his winsome voice and soul-searing lyrics.
If granted but one wish, it would be Gene.
