Interestingly enough, I was speaking with our Captain just a few days ago . . .

. . . and he was similarly impressed by Omega's homage to CK 859. Although it is precisely the sort of watch I'd like to see Omega develop, there are several other archetypes more personally compelling such as the Ranchero, RAF '53, US Army ref 2179, et. al. The original CK 859 was issued with a cal 26.5 SOB movement, so this particular homage is not really within the scope of my normal interests which are restricted to cal 30 Omegas and its varied descendants, especially the chronometers.
That said, I'll have a look at it when it arrives. I definitely want to add a modern manual winding Omega to my collection aside from the Ed White; I'd have been thrilled if the 60th anniversary Rail had been so fitted. Even if I find the new CK 859 to my liking, I won't be able to slot it in any time soon as the bill for the 2410 is due, so funding will be difficult. But if it's compelling enough on its own merits, it's a possibility.
Best,
Art
