This Flighmaster is a very special watch for me due to its connection with a good friend who made it possible to find and get: our dear Art. That´s why I baptized it Friendship FM.
Agree it is a cool watch and it deserves to be in your collection.
Regarding the Panerai Mare Nostrum: these early versions are small watches (around 40/42 mm if I remember well) so you wouldn´t have any problems to wear it. Later versions of the Mare Nostrum were offered in very large case sizes, except for the last version of just a few years ago which was a reissue of this first series and again in a smaller size. Regrettably this last version was discontinued after a very short period of time in their catalogue.
The colorful JLC chrono was a very lucky find. As a matter of fact I rejected it when it was first offered to me thinking it´s dial was redone. A fortunate article in a watch web site published in the same days reviewed this funky model and I learned it was fully original so I run to the seller who -thanks God- had it still in his stock!

I should try it for sure. I have learned that we shouldn´t be afraid of the size of a case but it is needed to try a big case on our own wrist first. There are other considerations to view...

I’m always in awe of Minerva movements.
I’d love to add one at some stage - but have yet to find a modern dial that draws me in, apart from some of the limited edition recent releases that are hard to source.
They are amazing indeed!
But do try especially the 44 and 45mm ones first to make sure they are comfortable on your wrist 😊👍🏻

I have a 17.2cm wrist - with a flat top which makes larger wears more accessible. Largest in my collection is my Zeitwerk Striking Time at 44mm in WG which wears quite comfortably - but with relatively short lugs.

I have a hard time with the Patek movement.
The issue is the column wheel cap which takes up a large amount of real estate on the caseback and its polished surface is quite a distraction. The CDV movement is prettier - but they both come a distance 2nd and 3rd to the Datograph.
Haven’t noticed an issue with the reliability.
I have a fairly large number of watches so don’t tend to wear any one for more than a day or so. Ironically the only one to exhibit rate issues was the Datograph - which had become massively magnetized for some reason. The balance wheel was banking and th...
