Hello dear Captain! Thank you so much for hosting this weekend.

Here my entry answering your interesting theme for this event.
As said before dials are a most important feature of our beloved watches. It’s their “face” giving them character and probably the first thing which calls our attention when we view them for first time.
I confess that I fell in love at first sight with many of my watches just for their dials. Of course case shape, movement and brand are important aspects to consider but dials are what open our relationship with watches I feel.
Of course dials serve their purpose together with the hand sets to give us the information we expect from the watch as an instrument and it is interesting to study how the designers thought about their best solutions specially in watches with complications.
Well here some of my favorite dials are here…
A classic dial of the VC Cornes de Vache
A funky colored dial of my Flightmaster
The very distinctive design of FP Journe full of character…
I have an special fondness for California dials…
And for thick lumed indexes of my 1965 Explorer 1016
Speedmasters offer some extraordinary dials
Some with the charm of some vintage tropical examples…
Or in special editions with hidden surprises revealed under UV light…
Or in those models with moon phase complications
Seiko and Grand Seiko offer some awesome dials
And I also love vintage chronographs with multi scale dials…
Which can be a bit complex to read but so charming!!
Have a great weekend dear Captain and all our friends here!!
