Happy Friday, Ted-Lo...

This week is the perfect theme for me as I absolutely do not wear bracelets.

I have to say my favorite go-to strap is tan “Egyptian Serie” strap from a well known maker in Indonesia. It pretty much works on everything as evidenced on the two watches below...

Next, I commend Linde Werdelin for designing a strap completely harmonious with the design language of the case. I am not a designer but I imagine this easier said than done.

The only Rolex in my collection lives on leather. Vintage and Neo-Vintage GMTs looks wonderful on leather, not so much the Contemporary GMTs.

This one I am quite proud of. This Leonidas came without a strap when I won it off eBay many moons ago and it’s design calls for a strap to be sewn around the bars. I found this leather from a maker in Eastern Europe who is no longer in business. IMO the leather and buckle is a perfect match for the case and dial. As I can barely tie my own shoes I had a buddy sew it around the lugs to finish it off.

Panerai as we all know is all about the strap game. The aftermarket scene is fantastic but some of Panerai’s offerings are incredible in their own right. Here is an OEM example weathered to perfection.

The Grail Wife’s current look on Stingray...

Almost every time I post this picture someone asks me about the strap, which is an older strap from the IWC Miramar series of Pilot watches. Looks great, but stiff as hell and never wants to break in for some reason. Oh well, its the price we pay to look amazing!

Finally a strap I ordered in January for my incoming Grand Seiko. I received the strap pre-COVID-19 and enjoyed.

Then this little microscopic piece of shit invaded the world and all I could see when I saw the strap was the image of a Covid cell or molecule or whatever it is... clearly I’m no science major! Fortunately this is the closest I have come to Covid so I must count my blessings.

Great theme this week, Ted. I wish you and the entire community a kickass weekend!
