My Montblanc collection villeret 1858 vintage pulsographe is my favorite watch. I believe I became interested in watches around 2006. My first nice watch was an iwc pilot chronograph a few years later. That coincided with a JLC, some omegas, and so on. At the time I was a lurker on different sites- purists, timezone, hour lounge etc. I remember, I believe here, when this montblanc was introduced (maybe 2012?). It blew me away.... white gold case, white enamel dial, pulso, mono pusher, mother of pearl crown, villeret small yearly production (apx 250 pcs), limited of 58...and the best part is that excessive finish on the minerva movement. To me easily the best chrono of the time (obviously ALS 1815 chrono, pp, vc can hold this title depending what you value). I love the ginormous presentation box, not because I use it, but it just signifies how significant this piece is. Most my other watches i wish they came in the travel or service box!
Needles to say I was smitten, however I was no where close to being able to afford this at the time. Then came a chance moment, in 2021, I contacted MB North America about the green mb minerva chrono. In conversation I mentioned this was my favorite piece.... to which he said let me check into this. Finally in 2022 they had a new in box available... I was blown away! Not only that, it included the oversize display box, leather folio and product guide, and the collection villeret hardcover book. Simply awesome. I love it. It is definitely not widely known or cherished , which is no problem. I probably could get 1/2 what I paid for it, which is fine. This was purely a passion play.
