Hello WPS, I’ve been hanging around the house trying to shake a sore throat, and decided to clean up my Watch Factory (my wife’s term for it). I thought perhaps this could generate a few posts. The first two that came to mind were ADHESIVES and LUBRICANTS...  

When i want to get out a movement off the case, how is the stem attached to the movement? When the rotor took off, is there a pin that you can push in to remove the stem?

Here’s the screw, shown by arrows. Usually it is well worn if the watch is old. You want to look for one that is NOT holding down a plate or bridge, and is the ONLY one of its kind. Undo 1 turn and pull, then 1 1/2, etc When the stem slips out, tighten it...  

I can save your reply. I need to get to the dial side, so i need to knew how to put out the stem. Thank you.

Maybe not for every movement out there but I’ve found helpful videos on ETA 2452 and Seiko NH35A.

I will check on you tube how to remove the stem in a save way.
