Well Done Bill!

You have the ability to constantly remind me that there are current models that tug at my heart strings! I often write off VC as a brand where I love their history and a little more agnostic on their current line up. However this simple 2 hand watch is as good as anything out there in the market and you know how you got me over that platinum patrimony!! The Historique American 1921 and the Toledo are exceedingly good.
I have yet to be convinced the current complicated models like perpetuals and chronographs excite me as much as their older line ups...... but based on the current trajectory, this is improving!

Historiques Chronograph into your collection before you start to pursue some of these other fine VC watches you listed. I wish you luck on your hunt ( and that goes for you, too, respo and Alexe)! Bill

Well, I can be flexible, but I am looking for a great 4178 (4177!!!). A good example is harder to find than expected..... I wouldnt turn my nose away from a well priced historique chrono. I am being to fall for the 1921..... what a stunner!

You hunt the 4178 and leave the Historiques Chronograph to me. ;-) But you're going to have to get your own 1921...I'm not sharing that one. ;-) By the way, which version of the 1921 are you falling for? Boutique or original? Best, respo

and would love to hear your theories. It seems to me at this point in time that too many vintage VC on the market are of poor quality, regardless of caliber.
