In general, that particular movement is usually fairly quiet. Many watches do make rotor noises (for instance many ETA base calibers do make some noises).
If it's noticeable when worn on the wrist and not immediately close to your ear, then you may have a very minor problem.
Best way to be certain is to visit a Vacheron Constantin boutique and compare your watch with that of a new (and hopefully properly functioning) model. Do you live close by to a Vacheron Constantin boutique?

Enjoy your VC watch. Just some clarification. We shouldn't not worry about the environment, if there was anyone rude to you and you didn't deserve it, call them out on it. But otherwise, we shouldn't be overly sensitive about the environment.

No point letting some poor service bother us too much but if really bad, we can simply feedback to the boutique manager or our contacts from the watch companies' HQ. I used to be very sensitive (not that I complain all the time but my mood gets affected) ...
