are usually off by several years because they don't account for production methods from the mid-19th century onwards where the case and movement were often constructed years apart. Like other V&C movements post 1938, the base unfinished ebauche was supplied by Jaeger-LeCoultre. Really, though, is that a point even worthy of discussion? JLC supplied hundreds of brands, there were founded as a movement factory after all and only moved into complete watches in the early 20th century. What V&C did with that rough ebauche is the real subject of interest for me...
