Thanks for another brilliant article!
References flip-flop a bit but indicate the majority of 6087 watches were made in yellow gold (26 or 28) and six or eight in pink gold. True to the V&C collector's ethos of "expect the unexpected", there were two platinum pieces made BUT they didn't have the classic cow horn lugs! These were created some thirty years after the series concluded with NOS cal. 492 movements and given Ref. 6087... go figure.

As far as dial iconography, there weren't any unique designs for the 6087. Following V&C's pragmatic practices across all models, they shared layouts, markers and hands with other references. The backstory on that black-dialled version is interesting; Patrizzi noted the piece originally came with a silver dial that was changed to black by VC at the owner's request, with a new certificate of authenticity issued to reflect the change. No questions of legitimacy, they did the same for me!
Mention should also be made of the look-alike cow horn chronographs from LeCoultre since they are the basis of many 6087 fakes.
