I put a new strap on the cow

Oct 14, 2020,03:51 AM

I changed the grey strap because I have a grey one on the Twin Beat and wanted to go for a new look.
How do you like it?

Before:

Frankly said I miss some of the freshness from the grey strap. Any ideas how to play the brown theme without going boring?

Cheers,
Daniel

a very dark blue cordovan, fully stitched could work too

I want to second this suggestion.

A blue strap will highlight the blue text on the dial. But I have trouble picturing blue gator working right on this watch, so I'd want to try it with a more casual material. Smooth cordovan or a pebbled calf.

Excellent suggestion, thank you!

Blue is how the Cornes de Vache is originality advertised, but VC does it in alligator. Your tip of blue cordovan would give it a cool, youthful look. I‘ll check it out. Do you have good experience with a specific manufacturer of cordovan straps? Thanks! ...

Navy Blue would be my choice! [nt]

This is how VC sold the watch. It definitely looks great but I fear it would always compete with my blue Overseas and Nautilus for wrist time. Thanks for chiming in!

Call me old fashioned,

but I like the original strap most... PS I know you've got the Pt version, but nevertheless, I like that strap. ...

Hi George, this brown calf is definitely more interesting than my gator.

I think I need to visit the boutique for this one. Alternatively, I was thinking about dark brown suede/nubuk too...

Brown suede sounds very nice. I think that could be a real looker

Glashütte Original has some of it’s Panomatic models strapped with nubuk; looks good and makes it look like another watch.

May I ask what that wooden box in the background is?

Doesn’t look like the watch box.

Good morning Daniel, I should have mentioned the source of the picture.

It’s from an article on Monochrome: monochrome-watches.com / It isn’t mine, alas, though it’s high on my shoppinglist for December/Christmas. Have great day ahead. Regards, George

Great suggestion, my friend! Would you know who would best make such a strap?

I've had a great experience with ABP in Paris as they have an amazing selection of hides and in literally hundreds of colors, tones, hues, etc...

An example of their custom tanning nubuck alligator can be seen on my 2 Duometre Chronographs below. The WG black dial has a multi-tonal grey nubuck large scale alligator with small scale gator lining. The PT model with PT dial has a multi-tonal denim blu...

Wow, looking swell!

I‘ll check out ABP, many thanks. I‘ve heard of them but have never bought myself. Thanks for sharing your good experience, Champ.

You really cannot go wrong with them. I've purchased several dozen straps from them over the years and have never been let down. They truly provide a bespoke product...

and if you ever get the chance to visit Paris I would highly recommend visit their atelier as then you can truly experience the customization and personalization first hand 😉👍

Ahh, that’s it. [nt]
