Keep everything the way it was and keep it in a safe, then auction it?

It sounds dangerously like you will wear and enjoy this watch heedless of investment value!!!

I have not used them and am not intending to in the short term but why not? I see many positives: - certified provenance (retained value) - general state of the watch should be close to as new - some form of warranty All of this is traded against some pat...

but what are the vintage rules for the collectors? I do share and understand VinnieD's point of view. Restored movement and parts from factory, original dial but cleaned, original case... all these sound good on paper but do these satisfied the desire of ...
