A steel VC chronograph with 'cornes de vache'! How close to perfection can a watch be? Well, made closer by the right strap.

I rarely choose straps, but usually take a watch that needs one to a jeweller friend, who has the uncanny ability to make the right match. Recently, I took him a steel chronograph with a silvered dial. His choice? A quite thick, edge-stitched, mid-to-dark brown one in plain, artisanal, Italian leather. "You need to fill the lugs," he said, "but, most importantly, the colour and tones of the leather will 'warm' a chronograph dial." And he's right.
Mind you, mine doesn't have the OP's cool Italian keeper.
