A great vintage
Mostly agree those pieces continue to shine with the passage of time. I feel the Chronometre Royal was still trying to find its way out of the forest though. It strayed with the 2215, Phidias CR and that 47022 in terms of design (admittedly a matter of preference) and movements (this I am more definite about) until hitting the mark with the 1907 and its wonderful 2460 SCC caliber. I wonder how many recall this movement was subject to an additional 30-days of chronometric testing following the ususal COSC 14-day trials.
2001 Was a very good year

For some time now I have thought that 2010 was my favorite year for vacheon Constantin. But I was thumbing through the Collections 2001-2002 catalogue, somewhat arbitrarily, and was amazed at how many of what have become favorite models for me were availa...
And I fall in love every day!

I wear my heart on my sleeve and my Vacheron under it. ;-) Well, the VC Malte Chrono and the Chrono QP set the bar very high, don't they? And not just within the VC brand but across brands. I hope to see you return to VC someday as well. Best always, resp...
Well I Am in love

With all of them! Nicolas is right. These were incredible times. Incredible designs. Pure art. I feel the Same about Lange and its beginnings. Fantastic grouping. And a lot of patience posting up ! More wish list pieces. Best, Joe

...weren't these all already on your wish list? And you already have at least a couple of them. LOL. Leave some for me, please. ;-) But seriously, as Gary has also pointed out, there are some pieces to hunt here, are ther not? Inpspiration, poetry, beauty...

I can easily agree with you on this. I am very impressed with the current VC catalogue. As you know better than most, I cannot get my fill and continue to lust after pieces in the current production even as I wish for many from the past. Now as for that 4...
In that case, Robert

I better not show you mine (LOL). I owned that retrograde date as well in white gold but sold it a few years ago, although I don't remember why. I also had a Grand Classic. I still own 5-6 from that catalogue. Definitely a very good year! Joseph
I like the ROYAL a lot

I believe it is 34mm..... :( but I love the dial's tension and muscularity / extreme elegance, despite the tiny case. I owned the Historique Chrono PT for a year or more--one of the most brilliantly beautiful movements I have ever seen. One day I'll own a...

Your assessment of the CR is spot on. I do not "recall this movement was subject to an additional 30-days of chronometric testing following the ususal COSC 14-day trials." But I don't think I ever knew that, and this is very interesting infromation, indee...

...the launch of the caliber 1400, and that was the first "in-house" VC movement in some time. I love VC around 2000 year to date. In those days were not the level marketing now we experience about watches worldwide and not was the "upping the ante" or "o...
