Maybe off topic but

I think I recall reading (either A Collected Man or Watch Brothers London) that the Moonphase blue sky disc on the 36mm is lapis? Same on 39mm?

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Perpetual Calendar Skeleton 39 or 36 mm?

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-16:56
Smaller for me. 39 mm: My choice? 36 mm because of the case, lugs, and bezel. You? Best, Nicolas ...

I would pick 39mm

 By: Champthekid : September 5th, 2023-17:05
because it fits my wrist better. That said, I’d be happy with either of them 😁

;) Good answer. ;)

36mm

 By: mhz vph : September 5th, 2023-17:07
Not only because it would fit me better, but the design is better too. No need for the thicker bezel or thicker lugs on a watch like this.

In agreement. 2-0 for the 36.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-17:09

I wouldn’t mind a 39mm watch in general

 By: dedestexhes : September 5th, 2023-17:15
However, the 36mm is more coherent for me in this case. One small remark though, they could have made the hands of the sub dials a bit shorter. Dirk

A third vote for the 36.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:27

First vote for the 39. 3-1.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:28

So, your vote goes to? :))))

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:28

36!

36mm

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 5th, 2023-17:34
But for some reason, this tuscan dial appeals more to me Credit a collected man ...

Sweet! 4-1 for the 36.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:28

The first one, the smaller one. It looks more original and refined.

 By: hora12reborn : September 5th, 2023-17:54
I suppose the 39 mm one is a later reedition.

6-1, now.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:29

6-2, now. Thanks, mon ami.

a perpetual calendar in a 36mm case

 By: Gabriel80 : September 5th, 2023-19:04
just outstanding. it has to be my choice!

7-2 for the 36.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:29

8-2. Thanks, J K.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:30

36 for me, please...

 By: bruckner4 : September 5th, 2023-20:01
love that piece.

I totally understand. 9-2.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:30

For me 39 all the way. This was my choice

 By: edtonkin : September 5th, 2023-20:44
and I love it! All are beautiful however! Cannot go wrong. ...

Nice!

36mm...

 By: mdg : September 5th, 2023-21:18
...and it looks slimmer too, but that might just be the photo angle.

10-3. Thanks, mdg.

 By: amanico : September 5th, 2023-21:31

I like both!

 By: patrick_y : September 5th, 2023-21:18
Strap on the 36mm looks more harmonious to the watch than the strap on the 39mm. But that's me being a nitpick.

One more for the 36. 11-3.

Tough call

 By: LemaniaChrono : September 6th, 2023-04:57
I have been a fan of the 36mm more than the 39mm. What I just noticed was the 39mm has a legible minute track.

Sub dial legibility

 By: GuyT : September 6th, 2023-08:28
I am a fan of 36mm as I find that size most suited to my wrist. These look great ‘blown up’ in a nice picture but how legible are sub dials on a 36mm watch in actual use? Can any owners comment please? I think that I would have to carry a loupe to read th...

You are raising a very interesting question through your comment about legibility. and it is not the first time we discuss dials legibility. BUT...

 By: amanico : September 6th, 2023-08:35
We should honestly wonder ( and I include myself here ) if the problem is the dial or... our tired eyes. 20 years ago, I had no problem reading the time on such dials. Now it is not as easy as it was before.

Both are excellent choices imho 👍

Agreed!

Probably the same material.

Beautiful pieces Mon Ami. From a pure

 By: Darron : September 6th, 2023-16:07
Aesthetic perspective, I enjoy the dial fonts and leap year colorization for readability, and translucent moonphase indicator of the 36mm. I like both the stepped bezel and flat bezel equally. But 36mm lugs win… 36 is my vote

36mm fits this classic piece better.

 By: RabidManatee : September 6th, 2023-19:26

A massacre. 16-3 for the 36.

 By: amanico : September 6th, 2023-21:10

For me the 36mm is much more harmonious.

 By: MTR : September 14th, 2023-21:43
Especially the bezel and lugs look more elegant and refined. But I am not sure about readability (for both).

Like that?

 By: MTR : September 14th, 2023-22:04
...

+++1 ;)

36 mm. : the mechanics

 By: Volney. : September 16th, 2023-11:56
seem to explode from the frail case, which I enjoy.

Me too. 18-4 for the 36, now.
